The Seymour Middle School “A” girls’ basketball team battled Gainesville in home action last Monday, Sept. 20, in a contest the host Tigers eventually dropped 38-17.
Seymour was down 22-4 at halftime.
Makaila Crawford was the Tigers’ top scorer with 6, while Elianna Wallace added 5 points.
Maggie Akers and Taylor Cantrell each had 2 points.
“We’re still struggling to score at times,” Tiger head coach Derrick Jessen said. “Against Gainesville, they outsized us, and we gave up quite a few second-chance points.
“These girls don’t give up and are still learning.”
On Friday at Hartville, the Tigers fell 25-17.
Books weren’t available after the game as Hartville’s coach was ejected from the contest.
