A winning streak dating back almost two months came to an end last Thursday night as the Seymour High School junior-varsity girls’ basketball team fell by a 29-15 count at Mansfield.
The Tiger jayvee had won six consecutive games after two defeats to open the season. Seymour’s season record fell to 6-3 with the loss.
Freshman Jadyn Johnson led Seymour in scoring with 6 points, while sophomore Adria Sturdefant and freshman Katelynn Smith each scored 3. With 2 points each were freshmen Makayla Rowland and Elisa Valbuena.
Seymour bounced back the next night (Friday) with a two-quarter victory over School of the Ozarks from Point Lookout.
The Tigers’ junior varsity plays twice this week against Dora and Gainesville, respectively.
