A pair of Seymour High School softball team members last week were named to the 2023 all-Summit Conference squad.
Each was named to the first team.
They are outfielder Cameron Hanger and Katie Smith, who plays outfield and also pitches.
In the spring season, Hanger was the Tigers’ leading hitter with a .405 batting average (15-for-37) with three doubles, two triples, 14 runs and seven runs batted in (RBIs).
Smith had a .352 batting average with two doubles, 13 runs and six RBIs. She also led the team in stolen bases with 10 and didn’t get caught stealing a base all spring.
Tiger head coach Payton Hosiner said she was pleased to have two members of her squad on the all-Summit team.
“It was really great to see both of them made the first team,” Hosiner added. “Best of all, both girls will be back for next season, when we’ll be competing in the district and state playoffs in the spring.”
Seymour finished the 2023 spring campaign with a 5-14 record.
A year ago, the Tigers won only one game in the spring season.
