Seymour's varsity softball team saw its fall record fall to 7-9 last Friday in a 17-3 home loss to a strong squad from Marion C. Early of Morrisville.
The Tigers of head coach Glenn Dawson trailed 3-0 after one inning, 9-0 after two and 13-0 after three frames.
The rival Panthers scored four runs to lead 17-0 in the top of the fourth inning, then Seymour scored three runs in the bottom half of the frame for the game's final margin.
Seymour had only four hits.
They included a double by senior Crystal Misemer and singles by senior Macey Hubbard, sophomore Lillie Rasmussen and freshman Aubrie Fann.
Hubbard, Misemer and Rasmussen all scored runs.
Fann and Hubbard each had one batted in.
Freshman Destinee Rivera was the losing pitcher for the Tigers.
In her varsity debut, she allowed 17 runs on 13 hits. She issued 12 walks and struck out one.
Seymour wraps up its regular season this week with two home contests.
At 4:30 p.m. Thursday, the Tigers play host to Springfield Parkview.
At 5 p.m. Friday, Walnut Grove visits for Seymour's regular-season finale.
