The Seymour Middle School “A” girls’ basketball team saw its record fall to 1-9 after losses last week in tourney action to Chadwick and Sparta.

At the Fordland Invitational, the Tigers dropped a first round decision 38-8 to Chadwick on Monday, Oct. 4.

In the tourney’s final round on Friday, Seymour fell by a 32-10 to Sparta.

Against Sparta, the Tigers were competitive throughout the first half and trailed 16-8 at the break.

Paisha Sturdefant paced Seymour’s scoring attack with 4 points.

Adding 2 points each were Addysann Baker, Makaila

Crawford and Elianna Wallace.

In the tourney’s first round on Oct. 4, Chadwick jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter en route to a 30-point victory.

Maggie Akers led the Tigers with 3 points.

Baker and Taylor Cantrell each scored 2.

Lilly Stevens rounded out the scoring with 1 point.

Seymour’s next action arrives Saturday in the season ending Summit Conference tourney.
