The Seymour High School varsity boys’ golf team, under the leadership of longtime head coach Lori Coutchie, placed eighth last week at the 2021 Reeds Spring Invitational, a 10-school event.
Seymour’s team score was 453.
Rogersville was the team champion at 345.
Leading the Tiger golf squad was junior Manny Gardea with an 18-hole round of 107. He fired a 52 on the front nine and a 55 on the back nine.
Next was sophomore Kyran Hepko at 110.
Other Seymour scores included Payton Bryant at 117, Kyle Benson at 119, while Kaedon Pruiett came in at 140.
Rogersville’s Kanon Gipson was the individual medalist with a round of 75.
The Tigers defeated larger schools Aurora and Clever at the tournament.
