Top-five finishes by the middle-school and high-school boys’ teams.
That was the result last Friday for Seymour’s crosscountry teams at the Conway Invitational.
Leading the way was the middle-school boys’ squad that placed third as a team on the 1.6-mile course.
Three Tigers earned medals.
Medalists included Colton Harris in fourth place with a time of 10:38, Wyatt Caswell in eighth place at 10:54 and Ryan Leonard in 11th place in 11:04.
Other Seymour finishers were Will Heil in 12:38, Easton Caswell in 12:44, Cash Yates in 13:15 and Matt Brauer, who came in at 13:46.
The high-school varsity boys placed fifth in team competition, head coach Beth Johnson reported.
Seymour’s top finisher was Class 2 All-State returnee Bryson Benson, who covered the 3.1-mile layout in a time of 19:42, good for eighth place.
He earned a medal.
Other varsity boys’ finishers were Jackson Bull in 23:35, Daniel Akers in 23:52, Felix Cantrell in 24:37, Samuel Lang in 26:38 and Kenneth Lang in 28:12.
For the varsity girls, two Tigers competed.
One earned a medal.
The medalist was Elizabeth Lang, who finished in 14th place with a time of 26:29.
Mackenzie Roderick was just out of the medal contention with at 28:49.
Two Tigers competed in the junior-varsity boys’ race.
They were Nate Littell with a time of 32:23, followed by Andrew Simpson at 41:16.
