The Fordland High School boys' and girls' basketball teams are the No. 6 and No. 7 seeds, respectively, in the upcoming Class 2 District 11 Tournament at Galena.

Fordland's boys, under the leadership of Eagles' head coach Brett Rippee, had a 7-10 record when coaches met last Wednesday, Feb. 10, to determine district seeds.

The sixth-seeded Eagles will play No. 3 Galena at 7 p.m. next Monday evening.

First-round games at being played at the site of the higher seed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so Monday's game is at Galena.

The Fordland girls, coached by Kevin McDaris, had a 3-13 record when seeds were set. His ballclub will play in the first round against No. 2 Crane at 4 p.m. this Saturday at Crane.

The tourney's semifinals and finals for the boys and girls will be played at the Galena High School gymnasium.

Championship for the girls is Thursday, Feb. 25, while the boys' title game is on Friday, Feb. 26.
