When I went to pick up my favorite skin lotion at the Family Dollar here in Seymour, this sign greeted me.
It was up for four days last week, much to my skin’s chagrin.
Then it made me wonder — what were the unforeseen circumstances?
Did someone lose their keys? Was Family Dollar experiencing a national strike? Was the store on the east side of the square soon to become an old Ben Franklin 5 & 10?
I later learned the issue was a lack of staffing. Not a surprise in Biden’s America where everyone gets a check!
Perhaps the brain trust of Family Dollar needs some management lessons from former U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle, who infamously once said, “We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur.”
Seriously, though ... now businesses can’t open their doors because of a lack of labor? Let that sink in, folks.
