Funeral services for Dylan Chase Clarke of Seymour are set for 1 p.m. today (Wednesday), June 30, 2021, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour.
Burial will follow at the Ava Cemetery in Ava, under the direction of the funeral home.
Visitation is set for noon until the service time in the funeral home.
Mr. Clarke, 23, died Sunday, June 27, 2021, in Seymour from injuries in a dirt-bike accident.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1997, in Springfield to Melisa D. Sartin and Ryan M. Clarke.
He was raised in Seymour and was a 2016 graduate of Seymour High School.
He was active in many school programs, including basketball, baseball and softball, and he was a member of the FFA chapter.
After high school, he joined the U.S. Army National Guard and was currently active duty.
At age 6, he joined the Seymour R-II School District’s chess club, a group whose members were generally older youths.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Melisa; his maternal great-grandparents, David and Nadine Sartin and Peggy Hoggatt; his maternal great-uncle, Billy Hoggatt; his paternal grandfather, Robert H. Clarke; and his paternal great-grandfathers, Cornelle Amanasan and Robert “Moose” Clarke.
Survivors include his father, Ryan Clarke of Seymour; his brother, Corey Sartin; his daughter, Leah Jean Clarke and her mother, Darrian Noonan of Seymour; his maternal grandparents, Bob and Carol Sartin and Paulette Thomas, all of Seymour; his paternal grandmother, Kathleen Amanasan of the state of Idaho; and his paternal great-grandmother, Shirley Amanasan of the state of California.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarke family or to Leah’s college fund and may be left at the funeral home.
