Graveside services for Wanda Russell of Seymour were held Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour.
Mrs. Russell, 97, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
She was born on Dec. 8, 1922, in Seymour to James and Emma Miller Lueallen.
On June 14, 1941, she married Charley Russell; to this union, two children were born.
She lived all of her life in Seymour, where she was a homemaker and had worked at the Brown Shoe Company, as well as being a minister’s wife for over 50 years.
She was a member of the Diggins Baptist Church.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and was a member of the Seymour Friends of the Library organization.
She also enjoyed growing flowers and loved spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charley, on Dec. 14, 1996; her son, David Russell; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Jan Swearengin of Rogersville; her daughter-in-law, Becky Russell of Seymour; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
