No funeral services for are planned for Howard Oliver Denney of Lee’s Summit and formerly of Seymour.
Mr. Denney, 83, died on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1938, in Seymour to Abner and Ollie Denney.
He grew up and attended school in Seymour.
He joined the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic with hopes of seeing the world.
In 1962, he married Beverly Pennington and had two children.
They settled in Lee’s Summit to raise their family.
In 1962, he began working at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit and retired from there in 1992.
In 2003, he married Marlyce (Marty) Cripe. They enjoyed their mutual retirement by traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, Beverly, in 2017; his son, Scott, in 2016; his second wife, Marlyce, in 2018; and his siblings, Wanda, Hazel, Helen, Hadley, Willard and Elliott.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacey Denney Wilson; his son-in-law, Mark Wilson; two grandchildren; his stepdaughters, Shelli and husband Mike Cooney, Kelly and husband Jim Wenninghoff and Amy Cripe; and several step-grandchildren.
