Funeral services for Ronald Edward “Ronnie” Owens of Fordland were held Friday, June 25, 2021, at the Diggins Baptist Church of Diggins. Burial followed in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour.
Mr. Owens, 50, died Monday, June 21, 2021, in his home.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1970, in Springfield to David Edward and Ruby Ann Lea Owens.
He was born in Springfield and was raised and lived most of his life in the Seymour area.
He was a 1988 graduate of Seymour High School.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was an EMT for Mercy for eight years and was currently a CPR/first-aid instructor.
He was a member of the Diggins Baptist Church.
In his spare time, he was a “Hands On Daddy” and loved teaching his boys how to fi sh and hunt.
Preceding him in death was in infant son, Ty Krider Owens, on May 21, 1996; his sister, Cindy Witt; and his father-in-law, Kelsey Mead.
Survivors include his wife, Winona, of the home; his sons, Clayton Payseur and wife Melissa of Fordland, Chance Greer and wife Kirklyn of Springfield, Lane Owens and wife Elizabeth of Fordland and Connor Owens of Fordland; two grandchildren; his parents; David and Ruby Owens of Diggins; his two sisters, Kimberly Wilkins and husband Daron of Seymour and Deborah Laschanzky and husband Pep of Springfield; his brother, Bobby Smith and wife Julia of Diggins; his mother-in-law, Billie Mead of Seymour; and his sister-in-law, Stefanie Lockmiller and husband Larry of Springfield.
