- Scouts selling popcorn

Five-year-old Carlee Bell of Seymour is ready to sell popcorn locally.

Like popcorn?

Tasty popcorn?

Best of all, do you like for the money you spend on popcorn to benefit young people in Seymour?

If the answer is yes to all three, save your popcorn purchases for Seymour’s Scout Pack 91 and Troop 91 as local scouts are conducting in-person sales throughout the month of October.

There are several varieties of popcorn available, ranging from caramel to cheddar, butter to chocolate. You can buy packs of microwave popcorn, as well.

There also are unique canisters that contain the popcorn. One features the Kansas City Chiefs’ football team.

Prices vary, based on size.

All proceeds from the popcorn sales benefit local scouts.

Scoutmaster Angela Stanley said last week that in recent recruitment, 12 new members joined.

“To start off the popcorn sales, we will sell at storefronts at several businesses in Seymour throughout October,” she said. “Some kids also will go door to door.”

For anyone who would like a scout to visit their home with an order form, that can be arranged by calling Stanley at 417-988-7986.

Online sales of the popcorn continues until the end of November.
