The city of Seymour has closed its bathrooms near the baseball and softball field at the South Park.
They were closed because of winterization, City Administrator Hillary Gintz noted.
However, the city’s public restrooms on the east side of the Seymour square remain open and will continue to be that way until early December.
“We’re going to use heaters and find a way to keep them open until after the Seymour Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 4,” Gintz explained. “Each year, the parade brings in hundreds of people to the square, and there’s a huge need at that event for public restrooms.
“Above that, we’ve got a series of big events on Saturday, Nov. 20, on and around the square with the kickoff to our ‘Shop Seymour This Christmas’ activities, so we also know there will be a huge need for the restrooms on that day.”
Gintz said the restrooms on the square, located just north of the Seymour Walgreens, will be closed for the winter on the week of Dec. 6.
