A two-truck accident four miles east of Seymour near the Wright County line on U.S. 60 left two with injuries early Sunday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway
Patrol said. Patrol Sgt. Jeff Fugett said in his radio report that the 12:50 p.m. accident left 33-year-old Jackie D. Cooper of Henryetta, Okla., with serious injuries, while Richard E. Capp, 64, of Cabool sustained moderate injuries.
Both were taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
The accident occurred when a southbound 2003 Chevrolet S-10 truck, driven by Capp, was crossing eastbound U.S. 60 from the four-lane highway’s crossover.
Fugett’s report said Capp “traveled into the path” of an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Colorado truck driven by David R. Duval, 34, of Bixby, Okla.
Duval had no injuries reported by the patrol.
Capp was wearing his seatbelt, Fugett’s report added. It said Cooper and Duval were not wearing seatbelts.
Both trucks were removed from the accident scene by Yates Boys Towing of Seymour.
