- Virus count now 1,428 in county

Webster County’s number of active virus cases was at 86 on Monday as the county’s total count of positive tests for COVID-19 increased to 1,428, according to statistics provided by the Webster County Health Unit.

A week ago, there were 61 active cases.

In the statistics released Monday, hospitalizations were at 74, an increase of 15 from the 59 reported a week prior.

The number of county deaths from the national pandemic rose from 25 to 27.

Marshfield, the county seat and most-populous city, leads the way in positive cases as that total hit 594 this week, up from 520 a week ago.

Next is Fordland at 234, which saw its number of positive cases grow by 15.

Rogersville has 215 cases, a jump from 189, while Seymour is next at 190 (up from 171).

Other communities and their total number of positive test results include Niangua at 79, Strafford at 45, Elkland at 39,

Conway at 28, Fair Grove at 2, while Diggins and Hartville are at 1 each.

The age demographic of 40 to 49 has the highest number of cases at 231.

Other age categories in the county and their number of positive test results include:

• Ages 30 to 39, 229.

• Ages 50 to 59, 211.

• Ages 60 to 69, 189.

• Ages 20 to 29, 169.

• Ages 11 to 19, 130.

• Ages 70 to 79, 129.

• Ages 80 and up, 98.

• Ages 10 and under, 42.
