An accident at Fordland’s U.S. 60 intersection at Highway FF just south of the HomePride Bank building last Tuesday, May 9, left two people with serious injuries.
One of those hurt was 28-year-old Braythan M. Alexander of Fordland, a Seymour native, who the Missouri State Highway Patrol said sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
Also injured was Cledith A. Green, 72, of Houston, whose injuries also were listed as serious. She was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
According to Trooper Austin M. James of the patrol, the 9:05 a.m. accident occurred when Green, driving a northbound 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan sport-utility vehicle, “failed to yield and was struck” by a westbound 2018 Ford Fusion car driven by Alexander on the four-lane highway.
Green’s vehicle then overturned and struck a southbound 2005 Toyota Camry car driven by Randall L. Cate, 69, also of Fordland.
Cate wasn’t injured, James’ report said.
Alexander and Green both were wearing seatbelts, the patrol report added.
All three motorists had automobile insurance.
Yates Boys Towing of Seymour removed Alexander’s and Green’s vehicles from the accident scene, James concluded in his report.
