The Seymour Police Department is seeking information from the public about an electric pole at the intersection of Park and South Division streets that was snapped in two by a motorist around 10 p.m. last Friday night.
Sgt. Chase Davis said one key piece of evidence is that the truck that hit the pole was red.
“The pole had red paint on it,” Davis said Monday.
“It left (the accident scene) and turned left, which is west, on Throughfare Street. We know it was a Chevrolet picked, and it will have damage to the right front passenger side.”
The accident caused city electric crews to work throughout the late night Friday and early morning Saturday.
Damage is estimated in the thousands of dollars.
Anyone with information about Friday’s incident is asked to call the local police at 417-935-4200, visit the station at the southwest corner of the city square or to make direct contact with Davis, who is the department’s detective.
