A pair of Seymour cross-country runners earned medals last Monday, Oct. 28, at the Summit Conference Meet, Tiger coach Nick Cook said.
Bryson Benson, a sophomore, was the top Tiger finisher.
He placed sixth in the varsity race with a time of 18:43 on the 3.1-mile layout.
There were 45 runners in the varsity race.
For his sixth-place finish, Benson was named to the all-Summit Conference first team and earned a medal.
Four other Seymour harriers competed in the varsity race.
In 22nd place with a time of 20:44 was Daniel Akers, also a sophomore.
Sophomore Felix Cantrell was 28th in 21:14, followed by Kenneth Lang, who was in 44th place at 25:35. The final Tiger runner was freshman Andrew Simpson, who was 45th at 42:13.
In the varsity girls’ race, two from Seymour were in the 29-runner field.
Leading the way was Mackenzie Roderick, who placed 19th with a time of 29:17.
Next was Riley Ferrier, 27th at 34:33.
In the middle-school race, Elizabeth Lang joined Benson as a Tiger medalist.
Lang posted a time of 11:59 in the 1.5-mile race to place third. Teammate Olivia Kyle was 19th at 15:15.
