Brothers Aiden Cantrell, 11, a fifth-grade student at the Fordland Elementary School, and Ashton Cantrell, 13, an eighth-grader at Rogersville Middle School, each had deer-hunting success on the opening morning of the youth season Saturday, Nov. 2, while hunting in Ozark County.
Aiden shot a 4-pointer, while Ashton harvested a doe.
It was Aiden's second deer and Ashton's first.
Aiden shot his buck at a distance of about 20 yards with a .243-caliber rifle while hunting with his dad, Steven Cantrell.
Ashton shot his doe from a distance of approximately 30 yards, also with a .243 rifle, while hunting with his stepmother, Miranda Cantrell.
