Seymour varsity boys baseball team lost to the Mansfield Lions 4-2 in the championship game of the Seymour Tigers Baseball Fall Wood Bat Tournament.


Seymour varsity boys baseball team defeated Gainesville 10-0 in the Seymour Tigers Baseball Fall Wood Bat Tournament Friday.

The Tigers will play for the Championship at 2 p.m. Saturday.


Thursday scores for the Seymour Tigers Baseball Fall Wood Bat Tournament:

Mansfield 10 vs. Crane 1

Gainesville 12 vs. Blue Eye1

Blue Eye 0 vs. Seymour 14


This week, Seymour will play host to its second baseball tourney this fall at the Seymour Fall Wood-Bat Tournament arrives Thursday, Sept. 27, and continues through Saturday, Sept. 29.

Six teams will compete.

In Pool 1 are Crane, Mansfi eld and Weaubleau.

In Pool 2 are Blue Eye, Gainesville and host Seymour.

Seymour enters this week with an undefeated 3-0 record.

Earlier this fall, the Tigers of head coach Jason Duey defeated Mansfield and Hartville, respectively, to claim the championship of the Summit Conference fall tourney.

All games will be played at the Seymour High School baseball field.

Thursday, Sept. 27

• 3 p.m. — Mansfield vs. Crane.

• 5:15 p.m. — Gainesville vs. Blue Eye.

• 7:30 p.m. — Blue Eye vs. Seymour.

Friday, Sept. 28

• 3 p.m. — Seymour vs. Gainesville.

• 5:15 p.m. — Crane vs. Weaubleau.

• 7:30 p.m. — Weaubleau vs. Mansfield.

Saturday, Sept. 29

• 10 a.m. — Fifth-place game.

• 12:15 p.m. — Third-place game.

• 2:30 p.m. — Championship game.
