For the second straight spring season, Seymour's varsity baseball team is state ranked.
When the Missouri Baseball Coaches' Association released its poll Saturday, the Tigers of head coach Jason Duey were ranked ninth statewide in Class 2 among the 10 ranked teams.
Summit Conference rival Mansfield was ranked fifth in the same classification.
The Tigers enter this week with a 6-1 record.
A year ago, Seymour closed the 2017-18 campaign with a 31-10 combined fall and spring mark and won the conference crown for the first time in more than 30 years.
This season, the squad's combined mark stands at 17-3 after the Tigers posted an 11-2 record last fall.
Valle Catholic of Sainte Genevieve holds the top ranking in Class 2. Marion C. Early of Morrisville, a team that handed Seymour its lone spring defeat last week, received votes in the statewide poll and was 11th in the coaches' polling.
