Friday, Dec. 27 -Fordland Lady Eagles lost to Hartville 66-34 in the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament.


Monday, Dec. 23 - Fordland Lady Eagles lost to Walnut Grove 57-28 in the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament. The Lady Eagles will play again at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27.


Saturday. Dec. 21 - Fordland Lady Eagles defeated Greenfield 52-41 in the first round of the Walnut Grove Holiday Tournament. The Lady Eagles will play Walnut Grove Monday, Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.


• Fordland Lady Eagles will play Greenfield at 1:30 p.m. at Walnut Grove.

• Seymour Tigers will play Fair Play at 4:30 p.m. at Ash Grove.

• Fordland Eagles will play Conway at 7:30 p.m. at Ash Grove.

After tomorrow all games will be played at Walnut Grove.


Varsity high-school boys’ basketball teams from Fordland and Seymour received their seeds last week in voting by the coaches for the Walnut Grove Holiday Classic.

Seymour earned the 10th seed in the 16-team tourney.

Fordland is the 11th seed.

Earning the top seed at the annual event was Billings.

Tournament seeds for the Walnut Grove event include:

1. Billings, 2. Forsyth, 3. Pierce City, 4. Hollister, 5. Miller, 6. Conway, 7. Fair Play, 8. Macks Creek, 9. Lighthouse Christian of Springfield, 10. Seymour, 11. Fordland, 12. Walnut Grove, 13. Verona, 14. Sparta, 15. Hurley and 16. Niangua.

Seymour will meet seventh-seeded Fair Play in first-round action set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Ash Grove High School gymnasium.

Fordland meets No. 6 Conway in the first round at 7:30 p.m. that same evening.

After the first round, all games will be played at the high-school gym in Walnut Grove.

With a win, Seymour will play the winner of No. 2 Forsyth and No. 15 Hurley at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26. A loss in the first round means the Tigers will take on the loser of the aforementioned game at noon that same day.

With a win, Fordland plays the winner of No. 3 Pierce City and No. 14 Sparta at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Dec. 26. A loss in the first round means the Eagles will take on the loser of the aforementioned game at 1:30 p.m. that same day.

Games also are set for Saturday, Dec. 28, and Monday, Dec. 30.

Both teams likely will play four games in the holiday tournament.
