Students from Seymour High School's FCCLA Club competed and volunteered in competition last Thursday on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield.
Seniors Felicity Cantrell and Rylea Owens competed in a Food Innovations project where they had to take a traditional entree and make it vegetarian.
Junior Laci Ipock in a Public Policy event where she advocated about the dangers of tobacco and vaping in schools.
Freshman Kinley Pruiett competed in the Repurpose & Design event where she took an old sewing cabinet and make a table for drinks with a built-in cooler for ice.
All four girls earned a gold medal.
Freshman Lacy Ruiz accompanied the four students and volunteered as a consultant to help out with the judging.
Next up, the five girls are headed to the FCCLA State Leadership Conference & Competition in March at Tan-Tar-A at Lake of the Ozarks.
