There will be an election this April for the Seymour R-II Board of Education.
A race developed last Friday when Brad Leonard, a Seymour native, filed for one of three, three-year seats on the seven-member board.
He joins three incumbents in the race.
Filing previously were Debbie Baker, Bob Crump and Kim Wilkins, each of whom currently is on the board with expiring terms of office.
Election day is Tuesday, April 7.
Candidate filing for the local school board remains open and ends at 5 p.m. next Tuesday.
Candidates must file at the district’s administration office on East Clinton Avenue (Business 60), just east of the Seymour Community Library.
