“Dinner’s on us.”
That’s the message from the Seymour R-II School District to the community’s patrons from 5 to 7 p.m. next Tuesday evening.
Free hotdogs, chips and bottled water will be served for two hours at the district’s back-to-school “open house.”
Food will be served in the district’s two cafeterias, which are located at the elementary school and at the middle and high schools.
“We understand that parents are busy with their lives and jobs, especially during the work week, so that’s why we decided to hold this open house during the evening,” Superintendent Steve Richards said. “We’re wanting to make this event as convenient as possible and have as many parents and students present as possible.”
All school patrons are invited.
“If you live in the school district, come to Tuesday’s open house,” Richards said. “Ideally, this event accommodates our students and their parents or guardians, but we want everyone in Seymour’s school district to feel welcome.”
At the open house, parents and students can:
- Meet their teachers.
- Bring and drop off school supplies.
- Meet the district’s new staff members.
The school’s elementary, middle- and high-school campuses are located on Seymour’s east edge on East Center and East Clinton avenues.
