Funeral services for Emma Lorene Bowers of Fordland were held Friday, May 31, 2019, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Burial followed in the Fordland Cemetery, under the direction of the funeral home.
Mrs. Bowers, 89, died Sunday, May 26, 2019, in her home.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1930, in Webster County to Everett and Ethel Bench Phillips.
She was raised and lived most of her life in the Fordland area.
On June 4, 1963, she married Kenneth Bowers and became a military wife while also working as a beautician.
She also had been a school cook and was a member of the Fordland First Baptist Church.
She enjoyed her retirement years sewing and reading.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters; one brother and a son-in-law, Don Bezdek.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, of the home; two sons, Michael Hunt and wife Chari of San Antonio, Texas, and Steven and wife Debbie Bowers of Fordland; a daughter, Dana Bezdek of Concord, Ohio; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
