Funeral services for Bobby M. Shelton of Seymour were held Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Burial followed in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery, under the direction of the funeral home.
Mr. Shelton, 90, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, in the Marshfield Care Center of Marshfield.
He was born on Nov. 28, 1928, in Seymour to William and Nora Hargis Shelton.
He was a 1947 graduate from Seymour High School.
On Sept. 15, 1949, he married Helen June Brixey; to this union, two children were born.
He lived his entire life in Seymour.
He was a farmer until he was stricken with multiple sclerosis and then became a watch repairman for many years.
He was a member of the Seymour First Baptist Church.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching birds, and he loved to hunt and fish in his younger years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Helen, on July 16, 2009; his grandson, Jeromy Denney; his sisters, Faye McGovern and Edna Ogden; and a niece, Carol Leann Dix.
Survivors include his daughter, Joyce Denney and husband Lonnie of Seymour; his son, Bobby M. Shelton of Seymour; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Doris Dix and husband R.D. of Seymour.
