Yet another severe accident at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Highway A in Diggins has resulted in serious injuries, this time for a pair of out-of-area motorists.
Cpl. D.L. Johnson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the 4:05 p.m. accident last Monday, Dec. 2, occurred when a southbound 2006 Hyundai Azera car, driven by 18-year-old Conner M. Hollingsworth of Collierville, Tenn., pulled into the path of a westbound 2016 Ford Escape that was driven by Samantha Doss, 51, of Mammoth Springs, Ark., as she was traveling on U.S. 60.
Johnson’s report said that Doss “struck the driver’s door” of Hollingsworth’s car.
Both motorists had no passengers.
Both sustained what the patrol described in its radio report as serious injuries.
Hollingsworth was flown to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield by Cox Air Care helicopter.
Doss was taken by ambulance to Cox South, the report added.
Both motorists were wearing their seatbelts, Johnson’s report concluded.
The vehicles were towed from the accident scene by Yates Boys Towing of Seymour.
