Citizen readers, it was just announced 10 minutes ago that neighboring Christian and Greene counties now are under a “stay-at-home” order for the next 30 days.
There are nine pages of definitions/exemptions in the newest emergency order, but the gist of it is that people in those counties are advised to stay at home unless deemed an “essential” worker or listed exempt (a list with about 100 different caveats).
The punishment for violation?
Per the order, a misdemeanor charge and up to a $1,000 fine or 180 days in jail.
We spoke with the Webster County Commission a few minutes ago. Currently, there are no plans for a similar order to be issued in Webster County.
