Highway AB just northeast of Seymour will be closed this week for a drain-pipe replacement project by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT).
Closed will be an area between Old Jericho Road and the end of state maintenance to the east.
The state highway closed at 8:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) and will remain closed until 3:30 p.m.
This Thursday and Friday, Highway AB remains closed from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
MoDOT officials said the highway will be open at night. State crews are replacing three deteriorating drain pipes underneath the road.
"Drivers will be able to get to driveways and entrances on either side of the work zone, but they will not be able to travel through the work zone," a MoDOT news release said. "Drivers are urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned in the project."
Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule.
