A 5-year-old child was struck on Highway C just before the end of 2019.
Trooper M.L. "Mike" Cary of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in his radio report that the male youth "ran into the path" of a southbound 2009 Chevrolet HHR automobile on the state highway about 3.5 miles north of Seymour at 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 29.
Driver of the Chevrolet was 44-year-old Timothy K. Adams of Seymour.
The child suffered what Cary described as minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, adding that the young boy was from Seymour and was a pedestrian who ran into Adams' path.
The child's name was not released by the patrol in its report.
