A 33-year-old Fordland man sustained minor injuries last Wednesday, Jan. 22, in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. 60 in Fordland.
Matthew W. Page was westbound on the four-lane highway at 7:56 p.m. that evening when he “failed to negotiate a curve, skidded off the right side of the road, struck a road sign and a tree,” Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M.L. “Mike” Cary said in his radio report.
Page was driving a 2004 Chevrolet K1500 pickup truck.
Cary’s report said Page, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
His truck was towed from the accident scene by Yates Boys Towing of Seymour.
When the accident occurred, road conditions were icy on U.S. 60 in southern Webster County.
