It was an Independence Day accident.
A Seymour man was involved in a two-vehicle accident last Thursday morning on U.S. 60, about one mile west of Seymour.
Trooper T.V. Mosley of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the 9:40 a.m. accident occurred when a westbound 2010 Dodge Ram truck, driven by George L. Russell, 78, of Seymour "failed to signal a right-hand turn," which forced a northbound 2019 Chevrolet Colorado truck, driven by 32-yearold Joshua R. Prichard of Douglas, Kan., "off the roadway to avoid collision."
Prichard's truck struck a culvert and landed on top of Russell's truck, Mosley's report said. Russell wasn't injured.
However, Prichard sustained what the patrol described as minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbels and had automobile insurance, the report concluded.
Both trucks were towed from the accident scene by Yates Boys Towing of Seymour.
