Five days before Christmas, a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Skyline Road in Seymour left two Seymour youngsters injured.
Cpl. Ethan Mueller of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in his radio report that at 4:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, a northbound 2003 Ford E-350 van driven by 85-year-old Marvin S. Earl failed to yield at the dangerous crossing and hit a 1997 GMC Sierra truck driven by Seymour’s Alexis M. “Lexi” Pharris, 28.
Mueller’s report said Earl and Pharris weren’t injured.
However, two young passengers in Pharris’ truck, a male who was 6 years old and a 4-year-old female, both suffered minor injuries and were taken by private vehicle to the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
Both motorists were insured, Mueller’s report concluded, with everyone wearing a seatbeats.
