The Seymour Senior Citizens’ Center currently is holding a fundraiser to raise money to put a new roof on its facility on the west side of the city square.
To raise funds, the center is selling raffle tickets for an electric Yamaha golf cart, which was donated by Seymour’s Linda Carpenter, director of the local center. The golf cart previously was owned by her husband, Jim, known to most as the longtime general manager of the Se-Ma-No Electric Cooperative.
The golf cart is in excellent condition with a weather cover and battery charger.
Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20.
Tickets can be purchased at Kleier Farm & Home in Seymour or from Linda Carpenter at the senior center. Although the center’s doors remain closed, Carpenter is at the facility on weekdays.
Center officials said the raffle’s drawing will be held on Saturday, Sept. 12, during the annual Seymour Apple Festival.
