This year, the Seymour United Methodist Church will be offering a “Longest Night/Blue Christmas” worship service for the community.
For any member of the Seymour community experiencing a “blue” Christmas, they are invited to visit the local church at the corner of Business 60 and Main Street at 6 p.m. this Saturday evening.
Music at the special service will be the more solemn songs of Christmas, and in prayers, loved ones who are not with us this Christmas — either because of death or distance — will be remembered.
“We will acknowledge our pain of any loss, and then we will remember ourselves and how God offers restoration and hope as we remember the holy stories of the season, the miracles of Hanukkah and Christmas,” a news release said.
Everyone is invited to attend Saturday’s 6 p.m. service, officials from the Seymour United Methodist Church said.
