The Community Partnership of the Ozarks, the Diggins Baptist Church and the Webster County Health Unit have partnered together to offer “Youth Mental Health First Aid” training from 8 a..m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, at the Diggins Baptist Church, which is located at 3700 Normandy Road, near the intersection of U.S. 60 and Highway A at the west edge of Diggins.

This free training is designed to teach parents, family members, teachers, school staff, neighbors, health and human service workers and anyone else who is interested in learning how to help an adolescent (12 to 18 years old) who is experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge or is in crisis.

A five-step action plan in how to help young people is discussed, as well as topics such as anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD) and eating disorders.
