It has not felt like the month of May for quite a few days. I hope the rain doesn’t turn to ice.
On Wednesday, May 29, we will be hosting an educational program, “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia,” here at the center from 11 a.m. to noon. Since we need at least 10 people to register before we can have this program, please register here at the center either by phone at 417-935-2211 or drop by 205 South Commercial Street on the west side of the square and sign up.
Our annual election for the center’s board of directors is Thursday, June 6.
Voting will begin at 9 a.m. and close at noon.
Nominations may be made from the floor on that day. To participate in the election, you must be 60 years of age or older and live in the Seymour or Fordland school districts. Good luck to all of our candidates.
The Senior Foundation of the Ozarks will have its Fearless Aging Festival on Friday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oasis Hotel & Convention Center located at 2546 North Glenstone Avenue in Springfield. Numerous vendors will be on hand as well as three forms of entertainment. The Hosea Bilyeu family will be there, as well as storyteller Marideth Sisco and singer/songwriter Liz Morindo. Sounds like a good time.
Our lucky citizen this week is Bob Pierce. Bob hasn’t’ been in for a while, so maybe he will come back.
Congratulations to Bob for this award.
