Free immunizations and dental examinations are coming to Seymour this Saturday.
The site is at the First Christian Cares Personal Pantry at the Seymour First Christian Church at 105 South Frances Street, located at the corner of Frances and Thoroughfare streets, as the event runs from 10 a.m. to noon.
Coming to Seymour is the dental truck from the Jordan Valley Health Clinic in Springfield.
Dental services will be offered for two hours on a first come, first-served basis.
“There are no age limits,” explained Kelly Owens from First Christian Cares. “To receive dental help or receive the immunizations, it’s as simple as just showing up.”
Only one requirement must be met.
Those who receive aid must be a local resident.
Owens said those who come on Saturday must show proof of residency to be eligible for aid.
The best way to prove that residency is to bring a piece of mail; addresses that qualify are from Diggins, Fordland, Mansfield and Seymour.
In addition, those who come to the Seymour First Christian Church this Saturday can visit the First Christian Cares Personal Pantry to receive a wide variety of personal-care items.
“We’re serving between 60 and 85 families a month at the pantry,” Owens said. “It’s evident there was a need in the area. And we’re glad that the response has been so good. Hopefully, we’ll have a good crowd Saturday for the free immunizations and dental-care services.”
